ANIL KUMBLE HISTORY

                                                   KUMBLE CAREER
- ODI debut v Sri Lanka at Sharjah - April 1990.

- Test debut v England at Old Trafford - August 1990.

- Spinner Kumble was most famous for his googly.

- He took just 10 Test matches to take his first 50 Test wickets, making him the only Indian bowler to do so.

- In November 1993, in a ODI against the West Indies at Calcutta he took 6 wickets for 12 runs, a new record for best bowling figures by an Indian.

- He is one of only two bowlers to take all 10 wickets in a Test match, the other being Jim Laker. He achieved this against Pakistan in the second Test played in New Delhi in February 1999.

- Kumble became India's highest wicket taker when he trapped Mohammad Rafique of Bangladesh in December 2004, to overtake Kapil Dev's haul of 434 wickets.

- He took 24 wickets in just three Test matches when India toured Australia in 2003/04.

- Snared 74 Test wickets in 2004, only Kapil Dev has taken more for India in a calendar year.

- Went past Kapil Dev as India's leading wicket-taker during the Test series against Bangladhes in December 2004.

- Kumble also holds the record for most caught and bowl dismissals in Test cricket.

- Announced his retirement from ODI cricket after India's early exit from the World Cup in 2007.

- Scored his maiden Test century against England in August 2007. In the same match he goes past Glenn McGrath's 563 Test wickets.

- Appointed India Test captain in November 2007 following Rahul Dravid's resignation.

- He became only the third bowler to pick up 600 Test wickets when he dismissed Andrew Symonds in January 2008.

- Ends his career with 619 wickets after calling it a day during the Test series against Australia in November 2008.
